College Infrastructure ...

The present college building...

is an L-shaped four-storied one annexed with a three-storied new building and has spacious classrooms with adequate furnishing.  Among other infrastructural facilities, it has a rich library with comfortable reading room, computer laboratory, auditorium, audio-visual facilities and adequately equipped common rooms. 

A point in this connection...

needs mentioning is that during the last few years infrastructural development has taken the college by storm.  The entire college including the Principal’s Office Chamber, the Teachers’ Lounge, the Library, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the classrooms are now renovated. 

It is expected that...

all these would help creating a positive environment in the college to develop the potentials of all students.


The Central Library ...

Central Library is one of the...

vital and proactive organs of the college.  It has a collection of more than 31,000 books, subscribes 11 journals and daily newspapers.  Besides, it has in its possession of a rare and rich collection of books of Prof. D.N. Paul.  The library has grown over years utilizing financial assistance of the University Grants Commission and personal contributions of the former and present teachers beside making use of its own resources. 

The library offers its reading materials...

for the use of all its members, six days a week and ten hours a day.  The library staff are very zealous to help and work industriously despite shortage of manpower and resources to keep the fervour of learning alive.  The library remains closed on all Sundays and scheduled holidays.


The Computer Laboratory ...

The college has become successful in establishing a Computer Laboratory exploring M.P. Local Area Development scheme.  Seventeen computers are installed and inter-connected through Local Area Network (LAN). The laboratory is also connected by Hi-speed internet facility.  More computers and basic e-classroom are to be provided shortly to augment the existing infrastructure. Students of the college for whom computer training has been made mandatory by the University can make use of it for academic purpose.



Computerization at College ...

Computerization leads to speed, accuracy, standardization and easy retrieval of information at the click of a mouse. 

The laboratories of the Department of Physics and the Department of Geography are well equipped with computers having hi-speed internet facilities and the students can make use of it for learning purpose. GIS software is provided at the laboratory of the Department of Geography and this facility is being used by the students of the department for academic purpose. GPS technology has also been provided for use of this Department.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is also equipped with computers having hi-speed internet facility, laserjet and network printers with scanners, FAX and LAN. The college at the auspices of UGC has established UGC Network Resource Centre (UGC-NRC) having five computers with hi-speed internet connectivity, laserjet printers.

The college office is now fully computerized having its office software package using a number of computers dotmatrix and deskjet printers interconnected with LAN.

The Central Library of the College is partially computerised using a computer with library cataloguing software.

The Study Centre of Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) has also a dedicated computer used for its official purpose.


The Sarat Chandra Sabhagriha (Auditorium)

A spacious auditorium has come up recently under the M.P. Local Area Development scheme with an accommodation of nearly 300 persons.  Here the college organizes various seminars and cultural programmes.


Common Rooms ...

Two spacious common rooms are earmarked for the boys and girls respectively.  Here arrangements for indoor games like Table Tennis and Carom are provided with and the students can make use of them in their leisure periods.

  4. Separate equipped laboratories for laboratory based subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Commerce 
  5. Overhead Projectors (OHPs) and LCD Projectors for demonstration purposes
  6. Separate common rooms for boys and girls with arrangements for indoor games
  7. Filtered Cool Drinking Water supply for all its constellations
  8. Silent Green Generator to fight power problems
  9. Fire extinguishers at strategic points
  10. Mukta Mancha (Open Air Podium)
  11. Air-Conditioned Computer Server Room
